Moonlighting with the Virginia Marcs band

Hi again! So I've been doing some guest singing with my dear friend Ginya with her Virginia Marcs Band. They primarily perform regularly at Swing 46 on restaurant row, and they also play in conjunction with Gordon Farrell's "Le Soiree Rogue" parties, which take place at People Lounge in the LES. Ginya has also been guest singing at my shows as well. She is brilliant and a star! There's no telling how far her career could go once she's discovered. Her band members of her 5 pc band are all sweethearts as well.

Performing solo jazz with the Jeevan D'Souza Trio

Hello! I've been busy performing solo jazz shows with the Jeevan D'Souza Trio. They consist of three friends who've already been gigging together for a while. They're great! Very nice guys who are loyal to accompanying little 'ol me. We've been playing together for a little over a year now and been performing at a few various places, such as: Somethin' Jazz Club, Tomi Jazz, Caffe Cielo, Tagine and the Parkside Lounge--all very nice Manhattan venues. Jeevan D'Souza fingers flit about on the piano, Miguel Mateus dutifully strums away on his electric bass and Keith Dorgan (aka Snik Wolfson) keeps the beat on the drums.

My Jazz

Hi, all. My jazz music is really coming along! I've done a few solo shows this year which include half originals and half standards. I performed at Caffe Vivaldi and the Parkside Lounge here in New York. Attendance was good and my originals were especially enjoyed. Evan Palazzo (of The Hot Sardines) was my pianist and Justin Hines accompanied with percussion.
I'm also working with another very talented pianist who's also an actor named Jeevan D'Souza and we're going to try out some new material at a Senior Center called The Village.

Have a great day!

My first solo show!

Hi all! I just had my first solo show ever, and it happened to be in New York City! It was at the Parkside Lounge. I'd sung there before as a guest singer with Mr. Ian Kane and his Boogie Stride Trio, and loved the comfortable, laid-back atmosphere, so I thought what better place to have my first show then there!
I had a wonderful and supportive crowd who gave me really good feedback! I had Ian Kane on piano and for the first time Jonathan Schneiderman on the arch-guitar. They both did fabulously and made me proud! I'd never performed with a guitarist before, just drum and bass in addition to the piano. It was a good experience. I learned a lot, I had a lot of fun and was thrilled that the audience reaction was that although they liked my standards they really like my original jazz songs, and how I sang and performed them! That was SO fulfilling to hear!
The unfortunate part is that I'm not sure when I'll be able to perform with Ian again, because he's moved out of New York now, but not so far that we can't play here and there again, hopefully.
In the meantime, I'm speaking with a few new pianists to see what we can work out.
For now, I'm still in the afterglow of my show, but excited to do more in the very near future!
